NPP To Now Hold Parliamentary Primaries On June 20

Graphic Online has gathered that the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) is expected to have its parliamentary primaries for constituencies where they have sitting MPs on June 20, 2020.
The primaries are expected to be held at the electoral areas and not the previous format whereby all the delegates met to vote at one place.

That, Graphic Online gathers is meant to prevent the congregation of many people at one place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19.)

The National Council of the NPP is on Wednesday, meeting to trash out the details of the primaries.

The meeting which started around 3:30 pm was still ongoing as of 7pm.

Present at the meeting are President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Chairman of the NPP, Mr Freddie Blay , Gen Secretary of the party, John Boadu, among other executives

Apart from the primaries, Graphic Online also learnt that other issues being discussed is whether or not to declare President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the flag bearer of the party by popular acclamation.
