The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has announced that it will reopen its Congregations for services in three stages across the country starting from Sunday 14th June, 2020 following the easing of restrictions of the ban on religious gatherings in the country.

Stage one is for District Heads only that are ready from 14th June, 2020 which will be followed by Stage two for all Pastoral Stations of the Church that are ready only from 21st June, 2020 and Stage three for all Presbyterian Church of Ghana Congregations that are ready from 28th June, 2020, taking into consideration the guidelines from the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture.

This was contained in detailed directives issued and signed by Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, Clerk of the General Assembly of the PCG on behalf of the Church after a General Assembly Council Standing Committee meeting held on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2020.

If a Congregation is not ready per the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture and the Church’s own detailed directives, such a Congregation will be given more time to prepare.

Presbyteries and District Head Stations are expected to support smaller and weaker Congregations to get themselves prepared in order to reopen for services.

The directives urge all Presbyterian Congregations to use the preceding week to prepare for disinfecting and fumigation of chapels, providing all the necessary logistics for observing the protocols of hygiene.

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante urges all Agents of the Church to adhere strictly to all the directives from the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture and the Church’s own directives.
