Maturity Of CI 126 In Parliament: We Voted Per Party Philosophy, But . . . - MP For Oforikrom

Member of Parliament (MP) for Oforikrom constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Emmanuel Marfo has said that Parliament voted based on party philosophy for the CI 126 to be passed.

To him the need for the head count on the said document became necessary after all the parliamentary legitimate procedures failed to materialize it.

" . . We voted for the maturity of the CI 126 through party lines for the need of a credible, quality electoral process in the interest and development of the state," he said.

The Constitutional and Legal committee member in Parliament, during a phone interview with UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' programme affirmed they concluded on such a decision as majority members of the house "to hold constitutional and democratic purposes", though the minority side of the house were not of the same view with them.

In a detailed explanation, he mentioned that the house on some occasions must go divided in party perspective for the betterment of the state, which does not mean there is division amongst them as Parliamentarians as some perceive.

"We are united as a body just that some positive decisions by government separates us for a common good," he indicated.
