NPP Primaries: Kwadwo Baah Laments One(1) Vote In An 'Illegal' Election@Asante Akyem North

Prior to the day of the NPP Parliamentary primaries, news reports were rife that election in the Asante Akyem North Constituency in the Ashanti Region has been suspended following a court injunction.

It, therefore, surprised some members of the party when voting took place during the primaries on Saturday despite the injunction.

The voting which was not reportedly supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) went in favour of the incumbent, Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi.

He scored 501 votes and his opponent Kwadwo Baah Agyemang had only 1 vote.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo' programme, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang said "there has not been any election in Asante Akyem North as far as I am concerned".

According to him, "I received a call from Collins Nuamah that the election will not come on in Asante Akyem North because of the injunction; so a different date will be set and I heard same from Sammy Awuku and Evans Nimako . . . only to hear on the day of the election that voting was going on at the MPs residence".

He further explained that the Ashanti regional secretariate of the NPP received a copy of the injunction even though Sam Pyne denies receiving it.
