COVID-19 Has No Cure, Observe Safety Protocols - NCCE

The Kpandai District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has urged citizens to strictly observe the COVID-19 preventive protocols issued by the government to mitigate its spread, since no cure had been discovered.

It said “With an increase in number of cases and related deaths, the COVID-19 has become an issue of great concern, and the only way we can tackle this problem is for us to rigorously adhere to the safety protocols."

Reverend Bruce Bagnam Dam, Kpandai District Director of the NCCE, who led a team of staff, gave the advice when the NCCE engaged community members in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region to educate them on the COVID-19 pandemic.

The education was carried out at various locations in the district, including;, lorry stations, markets, churches, mosques, educational institutions, faith-based organisations amongst other identifiable locations.

They were educated on the mode of transmission and symptoms associated with the disease, its management and the safety protocols.

Reverend Dam urged citizens to wear their face masks when they went out of their homes, avoid crowded areas, frequently wash their hands with soap under running water and sanitise their hands with alcohol-based hand sanitizers at all times.

He encouraged them to stop stigmatising people, who were infected with the virus, and were treated and discharged.
