Peacefmonline.com can confirm that the Senior Minister, Mr Yaw Osafo Maafo has contracted COVID-19.
The senior Minister, according to reliable sources, tested positive for COVID-19 after test results of samples provided for laboratory analysis turned out that Coronavirus is present.
Information Minister, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who confirmed this at the regular press briefing in Accra on Tuesday morning, added that the disclosure was with the tacit permission of Mr Osafo Maafo.
According to him, the decision to also publicize the Senior Minister's health status was in line with government's transparency.
He said: "In a separate development that has come to us this morning, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo has been informed that his sample given for test has been returned positive. He will therefore as of today commence treatment for COVID-19 from home...".
