WASSCE No Longer Going To Be Country Specific

Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah has indicated that WASSCE is no longer going to be country specific.

It may be recalled that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Education Ministry and the GES decided to embark on a country-specific examinations.

Education Minister said WASSCE candidates in the country would write ‘Ghana specific exams’ instead of WASSCE.

However, in an interview on Peace FM’s morning show 'kokrokoo', Prof Opoku-Amankwah said WAEC will be organising the exams for all the five countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Liberia.

“We need to rejoice over the fact that there is a breakthrough in how the examinations will be written. By God’s grace all the five countries have bought into our plan and all of them will write the exams at the same time. The entire schools in West Africa will start the exams in August 3," he indicated.
