10-Year Old Pupil Crowned "Queen Of Sanitation" In Ghana

A 10-year pupil of Pastor Abaidoo Prep. and JHS School at Odorkor in the Greater Accra Region, Ed-Hillary Leeward has been crowned ''Queen of Sanitation'' in Ghana.

The African Youth and Children Achievers, a non-governmental organization, conferred the title on Ed-Hillary Leeward, also known as Dede.

Dede has been doing amazing things on her own to keep Ghana clean. 

She took it upon herself to help address the bad sanitation challenges in Ghana, particularly in the nation's capital, Accra.

She started this challenging task at age 7 and since then has not backed out of her assignment.

The Queen of Sanitation has also taken her sanitation campaign to many schools, churches, mosques and other places as well as being hosted by several media houses.

She also targets her peers from the lower class to the SHS level to encourage them to join her sanitation campaign.

Ed-Hillary Leeward is tasked to ensure good, sanitation and hygiene practices, campaign against open defecation and water pollution, and also campaign on food safety.

Her articulation, passion and drive to see this country cleaned is worth encouraging and supported.

African Youth And Children Achievers is a non-governmental organization (NGO) which is focused on tapping talents in children and the youth to take up responsibilities in all fields and sectors in Ghana and Africa at large.

The NGO was registered on the 3rd July, 2018, under Ghana Companies Act, 1963(Act 179) and aims at nation building, making Ghana clean and creating an attractive environment for tourists among others.
