The Managing Director of Meker Africa, Cyril Mehanna has said the company is strictly adhering to the Coronavirus protocols at their various showrooms in Accra.

The world is now in a new normal as the Coronavirus disease has taken over the globe by storm, perishing about a million souls.

Though no vaccine has been found to cure the devastating disease, the World Health Organization has issued out protocols like wearing of nose/face mask, keeping of social distance, using of alcohol-based hand rub, washing of hand under running water among others to help curb the spread of the pandemic.

Also, the government of Ghana has made the wearing of nose/face mask compulsory, directing institutions, individuals to adhere strictly to the protocols.

Speaking to the media at their showroom on the Spintex road in Accra, Mr. Cyril Mehanna said the company is adhering to the directives from the government as the fight against the disease continues.

He explained that during the lockdown occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, the company closed down for three weeks which affected its work on sites, however, immediately after that it instituted strict protocols as prescribed by the government through the Ghana Health Service.

He said clients who walked into its Spintex showrooms were made to wash their hands with soap under running for at least 20 seconds, sanitise their hands and while their body temperatures were taken.

Mr. Cyril Mehanna added that at the same time the company was sticking to the one and a half metre spacing to avoid crowding and is constantly cleaning the showrooms especially in between meetings.

Ghana has so far recorded 34,406 cases of the novel Coronavirus with 30,621 recoveries, 3,617 active cases and 168 deaths.
