2020 WASSCE: Hajia Lariba Abudu Urges All Final Year Students To Make Their Parents And Country Proud

The 2020 NPP Parliamentary Candidate in the Walewale Constituency, Hajia Lariba Abudu, has urged all final year SHS students who are taking part in the ongoing West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in the Walewale Constituency and across the country to make their parents/guardians and country proud bypassing their papers.

The government of H.E President Akufo-Addo, she noted, has done its part in providing all the necessary educational support to the over 300,000 WASSCE candidates a lot of whom happen to be the first batch of beneficiaries of the famous Free SHS policy for them to excel in the exams. The onus is now on them to justify and vindicate the investments that have been made in them by their parents and the government, she posited.

In a goodwill message she issued on Monday, August 3, 2020, Hajia Lariba Abudu, who is also the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Northern Development Authority (NDA), wished the students the best of luck in the exams and admonished them to eschew all forms of examination malpractices and abide strictly by the rules of engagements.

She also expressed optimism that notwithstanding the possible psychological impact of the novel coronavirus on the students, they will, conscious of the huge expectations from them, defy the odds and rise to the occasion in order to pursue their career dreams and aspirations through education.

“Even though this is not the best time to write a critical exit examination like WASSCE owing to the Covid-19 outbreak and its possible psychological effects, I am confident and hopeful that these students shall defy these odds and make their parents and country proud and thereby shame the critics”, she said in the statement.
