EC Registration Exercise: Deployment Of Military To Ghana’s Borders Appropriate - Owusu Bempah

The Communications Director of Ghana Gas, Ernest Owusu Bempah, has rubbished the misinterpretations given to the deployment of the military to the county’s borders during the just ended voters’ registration exercise.

According to him, those who have a hidden agenda to create instability can come through various means and our military had to forestall any such act because the military was there to protect the territorial borders of this country.

Speaking on Wontumi Radio/TV, Owusu Bempah averred that  “the real intention of the military and other security organs of state was to protect the territorial integrity of the nation.”

They were there to perform their traditional role of protecting our borders against any attempt by any individual or group of persons who might have an intention to destabilize the country.”

“if our borders had been porous during the registration exercise those with diabolical plans could have infiltrated the country and with their names on the voters’ register as a eligible voters they could  use that to live among us and later  cause trouble for us as genuine Ghanaians.” He noted.

Owusu Bempah urged Ghanians to be grateful to Jane Mensah, Chairman of the Electoral Commission for doing a great job during the voters registration exercise.

As a patriotic Ghanaian, I am extremely happy about the outcome of the registration exercise. Personally I give Jane Mensah and her team 95% success in the organization of the registration exercise.”
