"4 Years In Opposition, No Message, No Manifesto" - Akufo-Addo Jabs NDC

President Akufo-Addo has announced that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will on Saturday launch the party’s 2020 campaign manifesto in Cape Coast in the Central Region.

According to the President, the manifesto will highlight all the major exciting initiatives his government will be championing in the second term should he get the mandate of the good people of Ghana in the December 7, 2020, polls.

Speaking on Skyy Power 93.5FM in the Western Region, President Akufo-Addo said it does not come to him as a surprise that his opponent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is struggling to decide on the message and the campaign manifesto for the 2020 general election.

He alluded to the fact that it is the usual of the main opposition NDC to take a long time to make a decision as it took them a long time to decide who will be their Running Mate for the 2020 general election.

He, however, wondered why it has taken almost four years for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to decide on a message and a manifesto for the upcoming general elections whereas the busy ruling party has been able to settle on its ticket and chosen the coming Saturday to launch its manifesto.

“Up to now; four years in opposition, no message, no manifesto. NPP, people who are in government, we are very busy but we have been able to settle on our ticket and we have been able to on Saturday have our manifesto for the country,” he scolded the leadership of the NDC.

Assessing the seriousness for power in the 2020 general election between the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), President Akufo-Addo said the NDC needs a lot of help to make progress in its quest for power.

“I think it tells you about the seriousness of the two parties; who is ready to act and who is going to need a lot of help before it will be able to make progress,” he slammed.
