"Bankrupt" & "Disingenuous" Analysis From An Academician – Sammy Gyamfi Jabs Bawumia On Infrastructure Presentation

The National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has insisted that there was nothing truthful in Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's presentation at a recently held Town Hall meeting and Results Fair.

The Vice President in the presentation disclosed the infrastructural record of the Akufo-Addo government which he claimed was “second to none, with verifiable data to back up my claim”.

“The investment in infrastructure by the NPP government over the last three years has been massive. I dare say our investment in infrastructure, our infrastructure record, is second to none for any government in its first term under the Fourth Republic,” Dr Bawumia said.

Sammy Gyamfi in an interview on Neat FM's 'Me Man Nti' programme said there was nothing new in the presentation because it was plagiarised.

He bemoaned the fact that the work of 'Unit Committee and Assembly members are now being done by a Vice President'.

He insisted that, "Bawumia combined lies, plagiarized Mahama projects, a celebration of mediocrity . . . the work of Unit Committee members; Assembly members is now being done by a Vice President; that is why the whole presentation is a compendium of blatant falsehood".

Bankrupt analysis

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also claimed the NDC government constructed the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange at a cost of $260 million while 4 interchanges constructed by the NPP government cost 280 million dollars

Sammy Gyamfi in response described the assertion as bankrupt and disingenuous. He said Dr. Bawumia failed to recognize that since the scope of each project was different and the cost would not be the same.

"I've never seen or heard anyone making such bankrupt analysis; I have never seen an academician making such bankrupt analysis . . . this kind of analysis is disingenuous; that is not how to compare projects."
