Let Your Educational Reforms Be More Practical – NDC Communicator Tells GES

Communications team member of the opposition NDC, Eric Agyei has called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to be practical with their educational reforms.

According to him, reviewing the educational policy is problematic as its implementation.

“As I talk now, we cannot confidently say all basic schools in the country have all the needed facilities for studies because we still have some communities that in rain or shine stay under trees to learn,” he said.

Eric Agyei, speaking on UTV’s “Adekye Nsroma” programme about the ongoing GES educational reforms further said, “the practical aspect is more important than the theoretical aspect”.

“The question is, after every policy, do we conduct a survey to check if the implementation of the policy will have positive or negative impact on the students? Because if such policies are not properly scrutinized, we may not achieve it needed result. Even after the implementation of Free SHS, we still have a lot of challenges, thus limited infrastructure to accommodate all the students,” he added.
