It’s Mere Allegation; No PNC Member Can Belong To Either NDC Or NPP-Atik Mohammed

The allegation that the People’s National Convention (PNC) is collapsing as a result of its members dining and wining with either the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been debunked by a former Acting General Secretary of the party.

According to him, it is not possible for any registered member of the People’s National Convention (PNC) especially the executives to serve the PNC and at the same time serve either the NDC or the NPP.

“The issue of some members in PNC being affiliated to either NPP and NDC is a mere allegation; I don’t think so…as for that characterization, it is Ghanaians that have given to people”, he debunked the assertion.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Atik Mohammed claimed that the PNC being an entity does not permit its members to belong to another political party as people are speculating.

He stressed that it is the mindset of certain individuals to pin people to other political parties when the individuals expressed their views in a manner being considered as a bias. He added that Ghanaians have made their minds that everything must be done through the lens of either NPP or NDC.

“It is about certain individuals with such a mindset; you cannot belong to two political parties. It does not make sense but the perception out there is that some of the members of PNC also belong to either NDC or NPP. The entity PNC is an entity that if you join, that is where you belong and so you may have your biases sometimes but it does not mean that you are not a member of the PNC”.

“When we talk of the biases, Ghanaians have made their minds that, you either do things through the lens of either NPP or NDC and so if you speak your mind, they will tag you with either NPP or NDC depending on which side it favored”, he stated.
