You Comfortably Patronized An 'Illegal' Okada Rider - Brogya Gyamfi Mocks Manhyia North MP

One of the issues which has dominated the media landscape recently is the legalization of Okada business.

Constitutionally, the practice of okada is illegal in Ghana.

However, many indigenes have taken to doing the okada business to make ends meet. The business is gradually booming and has become a primary source of livelihood for many low-income earners in Ghana.

Reacting to this phenomenon UTV’s 'Adekye Abia', Communication team member of NDC, Brogya Gyenfi pointed at how Manhyia North MP, Collins Owusu Amankwah patronized the service of an okada rider.

Brogya Gyenfi said; "It is illegal but an MP of a State boarded an okada to his programme. So, if he finds the need to use it then it’s good and must be pushed for its legalization. All that I am saying is that even the lawmakers know how important okada is in our congested cities like Accra and Kumasi, then why don’t we use the right channel and make the law for everyone to patronize as it will by far not help only the poor and marginalized but even the big men as well."
