Afram Plains South is a constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The population of the district according to 2010 population and housing census stands at 115,812.

It's considered a stronghold of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and has voted continuously for the party in the past 6 elections: 1996 - 2016, both parliamentary and presidential.

The Member of Parliament for this constituency is Eric Osei Owusu. He however, lost his reelection bid during the NDC Parliamentary primaries.

The NDC Parliamentary aspirant for the 2020 election, therefore, is Joseph Appiah Boateng; a former MP for the constituency.
