Ghana Election 2020: Pattern Of Voting In Juaboso Constituency

Juaboso constituency is located in the Western North Region of Ghana and it’s considered a stronghold for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The opposition NDC has held on to power in this constituency for years as efforts for the NPP to take over have proved futile.

The NDC continuously takes the lead in both presidential and parliamentary vote count in this constituency per data compared from 1996 to 2016 election; often with a huge margin.

However, in 2016, the margin wasn’t wide. The NPP scored 47.0 percent and NDC 51.9 percent out of the total vote cast for parliamentary. For the presidential, the NPP scored 41.6 percent and NDC 56.8 percent.

The incumbent Member of Parliament who has occupied the seat since 2012 is Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and he is seeking reelection in the forthcoming December 7 polls.

He will battle it out with Martha Kwayie Manu of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Martha who is also a DCE has vowed to unseat the incumbent and to make Juaboso an NPP stronghold.
