Sekondi constituency is located in the Western Region of Ghana and it’s considered a stronghold for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NPP has maintained dominance in this constituency for years as they continuously emerge winners in all six elections compared from 1996 to 2016.

The incumbent Member of Parliament is Andrew Egyapa Mercer who contested on the ticket of the NPP.

Egyapa is seeking reelection in the forthcoming December 7 election and he will face a fierce competition from Charles Hagan, also known as ‘Panya’ of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
