Attack On Tarkwa-Nsuaem Resident Has Nothing To Do With Chieftaincy Dispute - Police

Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku has dismissed reports that the assault meted out to one Dauda Issaka by Robert Amoh, also known as Djator has a linkage to the recent chieftaincy dispute at Tarkwa-Nsuaem in the Western Region.

According to her, even though the victim, Dauda Issaka and the suspect, Robert Amoh who has been arrested for butchering the former and another woman are from the opposing side of the chieftaincy problem, the narration of the victim has no connection to the chieftaincy feud.

Explaining on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku said that the attack on the persons who nearly claimed the life of Dauda Issaka started by Robert Amoh who assaulted the victim for beating up his brother.

She added that after the recent chieftaincy problem which led to the burning of the palace, peace has been restored in the area until the Saturday incident.

“ . . there is no problem in the area but the police are investigating the case as another person called Karley was mentioned in the scuffle that ensued in the area,” she reiterated.

Without disclosing the statement of the suspect to the public, DSP Adiku hinted that the suspect, Robert Amoh has been arraigned before promising that investigations will continue to unravel the actual cause of the attack.

With regard to the allegation that the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Hon. Mireku Duker was also attacked, DSP Ewurabena Adiku said that she has not received any information on it; thus, she spoke to the Divisional Commander on the allegation but there has not been any such information.

“I have spoken to the Divisional Commander about it but there is no such information about it,” she indicated.
