Lead Suspect In Murder Of Prof Benneh Dead

The lead suspect in the murder of Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh has reportedly died.

James Nana Wamba, 29, is said to have passed away last Saturday, October 17, at the Police Hospital in Accra.

The deceased, who was a cleaner at Prof Benneh’s house, was said to confessed to killing the law lecturer after he resisted a robbery attempt.

He was said to have committed the act together with two others and had been charged with conspiracy to commit crime and murder by the Kaneshie District Court.

According to reports, James was rushed to the hospital after his court hearing on Wednesday, October 14, where he was treated and discharged.

He was later sent to the hospital last Saturday and was admitted for treatment but died shortly afterwards.

The cause of his death is not yet known.

Attempts to reach the Police on circumstances leading to his death have all proved futile.
