COVID-19: Don't Get Tired Of The Safety Protocols - Senior Psychologist Tells Ghanaians

Head of Psychology at the University of Ghana, Prof. Joseph Osafo has advised Ghanaians to keep observing the safety protocols against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ghana’s COVID-19 active cases have declined to 398 with 46,664 recoveries and 310 deaths.

This comes as great news to the nation considering the fact that the active cases were in the thousands and now reduced significantly.

Contributing to Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', Prof. Joseph Osafo cautioned the citizenry against being complacent and not following the health protocols.

He was particularly concerned that many Ghanaians have refused to wear their nose masks and ensure social distancing protocols.

He stressed that the country is not out of the woods, therefore "people should not get fatigued. They shouldn't get tired. There's that flu fatigue. There's that pandemic fatigue. There's that optimism bias to say I have practiced the safety protocols regularly, I don't have the disease; then the possibility of you stopping is high. Don't get tired. Do everything to protect yourself and your family".
