The Kyebi Government Hospital has received medical equipment and vehicles from Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin to enhance healthcare delivery at the health facility in the Abuakwa South Municipality.
The medical equipment donated by Okyenhene to augment existing ones that are overburden include; 10 dopplers, two oxygen concentrators, two patient monitors, two vital signs monitor, two monitor stands, two wall-mount for patient monitors, and a physiotherapy treadmill.
The other items include two brand new pick-up vehicles, four washing machines, one theatre bed, and one 24 litres, and 100 litres autoclave each.
Healthcare delivery
At a ceremony on Monday, October 26, 2020, the Okyehene, said the donation was to improve the healthcare delivery and reduce the excessive burdens placed on the already existing equipment at the health facility.
He urged the staff to be very responsible in the delivery of their service as they were at the helm of saving human lives.
He urged the management of the hospital to take good care of the medical supply and the vehicles, adding that they must also use the equipment judiciously.
Motivation
The Municipal Health Director, Mrs Tina Abena Nartey said the items and the vehicles donated to the hospital would be a source of motivation to the staff and management.
She said the items donated would translate into more impressive performance from the health workers to patients seeking medical care at the health centre.
Appreciation
The Medical Superintendent of the Kyebi government hospital, Dr Richard Nii Darku Dodoo received the items on behalf of the health facility.
He expressed gratitude to the Okyehene for his unflinching support to the hospital during the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with the provision of personal protective equipment (PPEs) and providing food for frontline health workers as well as the items donated to the hospital.
He pledged that the hospital management would make sure the medical supplies and other items are put to judicious use.
He added that the hospital expansion projects were on course as the first phase would be completed and commissioned next year whilst expressing optimism that the second phase would commence immediately after the first phase.
