Celebrity Hypeman Berima Seanbills Sets A New Trend

Ghanaian hypeman, Berima Seanbills has impacted not just the Ghanaian night life but also the popularization of terms.

The A&R of Twist Entertainment Legacy is widely credited for the trending urban term “Wo Gyiii”.

“Wo gyiii” is the short term of the vernacular word “Wo gyimi no” to wit you’re fooling, which has recently gained popularity in the entertainment industry as a cool term. 

The term came out due to an intercity social media banter between people of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region and Accra, Greater Accra Region in 2018.

As a way of addressing social media trolls, Berima started using the word “wo gyimi no” on the mic.

The term “Wogyiii” has influenced the Ghanaian millennial culture with DJs, Artistes, and fans using the term in a cool manner. 

Recently Berima Seanbills’ voice jingle featured on BBC radio 1, IOS Radio Toronto and the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards stage with Darkovibes & King Promise by kind courtesy the iPhone DJ.

Seanbills is a trendsetter and has made several soundtracks with his terms “y3 wo kese3” which got American legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather’s attention with his artist Friyie & singer Broni hopping on it.

The term has also inspired the biggest song of the moment titled “La Hustle” by multi-awarded Ghanaian rapper Medikal featuring Joey B and Criss Waddle.

“Wo gyiii” is a movement and Berima plans to develop ringtones, caller ringer back tune, soundtracks and more with the term for his fans worldwide.

He has further curated an exclusive playlist dubbed “Accracountry’’ which is currently an official Boomplay Ghana playlist.

Berima Seanbills has been at the forefront of pushing Ghana and Afrobeat to the world.
