National Secretary of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Paa Ekow Ackon has advised Ghanaians against election violence on Monday, December 7, 2020.

There was a violent clash recently between supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Jamestown in the Odododiodio constituency.

The supporters reportedly belonged to the camps of the incumbent MP Nii Lante Vanderpuiye and NPP Parliamentary candidate Nii Lante Bannerman.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, Paa Ekow Ackon expressed concern over the violent acts.

He urged Ghanaians not to follow politicians to stoke chaos in the nation.

''Why do you want to kill yourself for a politician? A politician whose child doesn't even vote, a politician whose child doesn't go to school in Ghana; why do you want to kill yourself for such a person?'' he questioned.

The PPP National Secretary called for peace to reign before, during and after the elections.
