EC Is 98% Prepared For 2020 General Election - Sylvia Annor

Acting Head of Public Affairs for the Electoral Commission, Madam Sylvia Annor, has revealed that the Electoral Management Body is 98 per cent set to carry out its mandate of superintending over the 2020 general elections.

According to her, all the logistics needed to make the 2020 general election successful have been sent to the various places in the country with the seals of all the political parties to ensure nobody tampers with the election materials.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Madam Sylvia Annor assured the public that the Electoral Commission is ready and almost done with the training of their officials to man the election on December 7.

“We want to tell all eligible Ghanaian voters that the Electoral Commission is 98 per cent prepared and ready for 2020 general election. We want all Ghanaians to keep their voter’s ID cards at places they can easily pick it up to vote,” she hinted.

She again disclosed that the Electoral Commission is only left with checking and rechecking of all the materials needed to make the election complete.

"We will do everything lawful to make the election successful. There is a high level of transparency from the printing house where all the political parties have their representatives to monitor the activity and take the serial numbers of the ballot papers and they add their seal to the ballot boxes and papers,” she stressed.

Madam Sylvia Annor hinted that all the political parties have been part of the movement of the logistics to all the places the materials ought to be for the election to take off from two weeks from now.
