Presidential Transition Team Chairperson Receives Handing-Over Notes From 54 MDAs

Alhaji Yakubu Atchulo, Director of Administration, Office of the Administrator-General, on Wednesday, presented the handing-over notes of 54 ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to the Chairperson of the Presidential transition team, Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare.

The handing-over notes were presented to Madam Osei-Opare at the maiden formal working meeting of the transition team in Accra.

The 54 MDAs include the Office of the President, Office of the Senior Minister, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ministry of Aviation, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Works and Housing, Ministry of Information and Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources as well as some Regional Coordinating Councils.

In brief remarks, Madam Osei-Opare, also the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, said it would use the maiden working meeting to constitute some sub-committees including Inauguration Sub-Committee and Government Machinery Sub-Committee, to work towards the smooth inauguration of the President on January 7, 2021.

She entreated the members of the transition team to work collaboratively to discharge their mandate meaningfully.

She said the Committee was supposed to present its final report to the President a day after the inauguration and must work assiduously to meet the deadline.

On December 10, 2020, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointed a 15-member Presidential transition team as required by Section 1 clause 3 of the Presidential Transition Act, 2012, Act 845, to ensure a smooth transfer of political power from the Akufo-Addo-led government first term to a second term.

Members of the Presidential transition team include; Nana Yaw Osafo Maafo, Senior Minister, Madam Gloria Akuffo Addo, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice,Mr Ken Ofori-Atta ,Finance Minister, Mr Ambrose Dery, Minister of the Interior and Mr Dominic Nitiwul, Minister of Defence,

The rest are Ms Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hajia Alima Mahama, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Albert Kan Dapaah, Minister of National Security, Dr Nana A to Arthur, Head of Local Government Service, Dr Janet Ampadu, Chair of the Public Services Commission, Mrs Mercy Deborah, Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr Joshua Kyeremeh, National Security Coordinator and Mr Henry Wood, Acting Chief Director, Office of the President.

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has been designated as the spokesperson for the Presidential transition team.
