If You Like Don’t Come To Our Programmes; We Won’t Beg U - Sam George Goes Wild On Media

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the media of putting out false figures of the December 7 election.

According to them, the media is in bed with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission (EC).

On the other hand, the same media gives coverage to their programmes.

In an interview on Neat FM, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram constituency was asked why his party lambastes the media yet they want them to cover their events.

In response, Sam George said the NDC has every right to 'call out' the media for their 'selective reportage'

He asserted that the media owe it as a duty to give their audience a balanced reportage and that if they choose not to cover their programmes, 'we will get our news and information out' all the same.

"if your media station thinks you won't come and cover the NDC, that is your editorial policy, we won't beg you to come and cover our programme; that we won't do. You have a responsibility to your listeners to show them all sides of the news and leave your listeners to make their opinion...because you have done the wrong thing and we have confronted you, you think you are above reprimand....the media is not above reprimand or reproach" he stated.

Emphasizing his comments he added: "in some instances, some media houses projected wrong results; some failed to point out the wrongs of this government during this election and you think we should keep quiet? if that is why you won't come and cover our story, fine don't come...because at the end of the day we will continue to hold everybody accountable...if we are not happy with you for some of these selective media reportage, we have every right to call you out on it and if for that reason you think you won't cove our story that's fine but we will get our news and information out"
