Body Of Man Who Drowned At Aboadze Found

The body of a 30-year-old-man, who went swimming in the sea on Christmas Day and got drowned at Aboadze has been found.

The deceased, identified as Roger Anabah got drowned after attempts to rescue him failed on Friday, December 25 at about 1300 hours.

The incident was reported to the Assembly Member as well as the Unit Committee and the youth in the area to mount a search to retrieve the body but they were unsuccessful.

Friends of the deceased continued the search till they saw the body washed ashore on Sunday, December 28, at about 1700 hours.

The Criminal Intelligence Department of Ghana Police (CID) at Aboadze went to the scene to retrieve the body.

The chief fisherman, his elders, and the assembly member in the community collectively commended the youth and the friends who volunteered to search for the body of the deceased.

They, however, attributed the washing ashore of the body of the deceased to rigorous performance of customary rites by the chief priestess and linguist in the community.

The chief fisherman and the assembly member cautioned the general public who were planning to swim in the sea during the yuletide to be extra careful.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the mortuary pending post-mortem.
