Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu Deserves Commendations For Grooming Others For The Future

Oftentimes when old leaves on a tree must give way to new ones to take over, the old and dried ones leave vacuums which can never be filled by the new entrants.

It is so with some leaders. When some of our leaders see that their exits are imminent, they don’t take steps to groom others to succeed them.

That’s not Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Majority Leader. Leader, as he is popularly called, is ready to nurture young, vibrant, intelligent and highly committed young and affable Members of Parliament to take over the mantle of leadership when he takes the back seat some time to come.

For OKMB to agree to nurture the talents of Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, Annor Dompreh and the likes is a testament to the fact that he is a leader not ready to leave a vacuum behind when he is no more.

It tells you his sense of patriotism and love for the party to succeed even in his absence. For this singular act, it is important for all well-meaning party members to commend Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for this move.

Not many people who have risen to his status would agree to take up such a responsibility to train others to take over the mantle of leadership when they are to leave the scene.

If all other leaders are to emulate this wonderful gesture by OKMB, there would always be smooth and competent running of entities.
