Homosexuality Has Been In Existence Since Slavery . . . – Former MP
Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Lawyer Inusah Fuseini, say the practice of homosexuality and other acts of unnatural carnal knowledge has been in existence for years and it will be difficult for anyone to prevent its activism and the practice.
He explained on NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' show that Ghana must recognise the existence of Gay Rights because it is a matter of “new rights” emerging.
“I have read books that indicates that this practice was there during the slave era. Slave masters buy same-sex slaves to satisfy themselves,” he noted.
Mr. Fuseni however said even though his religion is against the practice, the law might permit it to happen.
“As a Muslim, I cannot be seen to be practising it but that is me as a Muslim, but as a lawyer, new rights are emerging and it is time that we recognize the existence of those new rights,” he told host Kwesi Aboagye.
“I am not endorsing gays and lesbianism. No, that is not the issue. If the law gives the right for that, people should respect that right. But for now, we don’t have the right here in Ghana,” he added.
