You Don't Have The Right To Attack Gays And Lesbians - Lecturer Admonishes Ghanaians

Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, a lecturer at the Central University in Accra, has admonished Ghanaians against physical attacks on the Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) group in Ghana.

Dr. Otchere-Ankrah stated emphatically that in as much as the LGBTQI practices are unacceptable, it doesn't lie with any Ghanaian to assault them.

"I don't support the physical and personal attacks because if care is not taken innocent people will be killed. When I was in school, we had people who portrayed feminine features but that doesn't necessarily mean he is a gay or lesbian," he said during a panel discussion on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.

He called on the citizenry to report homosexual activities to the Police but ''to claim the person's life, I don't subscribe to that''.

The Police on Wednesday, February 24 raided and shut down a LGBTQI office at Ashongman Estate in Accra after suspecting some homosexuals were converting a house at Ashongman Estate into an office for their kind.
