The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo turns 77 years and the Majority Leader of Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has eulogised him for being a hardworking President for the country.

According to the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, it is amazing to see President Akufo-Addo at his age still working in the middle of the night when ordinarily he should be sleeping to garner more energy to start the next day afresh.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the Suame Member of Parliament(MP) prayed for the blessings, strength, and divine wisdom for the President as he needs them to turn things around in the lives of Ghanaians.

He, however, described as a gift to President Akufo-Addo the strength with which he uses to work for God and country; reiterating that it is expected that at the age of the President he will slow down in terms of his activities, but he rather exhibits strength that the young men around him find it amazing.   

“In life, if God gives you 77 years on this earth then, God has blessed you and so we congratulate and wish the President a happy birthday. We also wish the blessings of God for him that he will be able to steer affairs of the country in all honesty, justice and a clear conscience so that the entire country will be blessed through him,” he prayed.

“We are amazed by the strength of the President at his age as he is able to work throughout the night around 9pm. The last time I visited him to discuss some issues was around 10 pm and I left there almost 11 pm and so we don’t know where his strength comes, but I think that it is God that has gifted him with such strength to work hard,” he concluded.

He further expressed concerns that even though he is working hard for the benefit of the country, the President should consider his age and not overstretch himself as the young men even complain of tiredness.

“Even though he is working hard for the benefit of the country, but taking his age into account, I will plead with him to slow down a bit because as you advance in age, the strength in you reduces. So, sometimes, you don’t also over-exaggerate your strength,” he pleaded.

“So, as he celebrates his birthday, we will wish a long life in good health and the blessings of God for him. We will also wish the wisdom and divine knowledge of God for him to steer the affairs of this country,” he prayed.
