GMA Declares 'Operation Zero COVID-19' As Ghanaians Begin Easter

President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Dr. Frank Ankobea has declared ''Operation Zero COVID-19'' aimed at raising awareness about the deadly Coronavirus as well as prevent its spread.

There is a decline in Ghana's COVID-19 cases, however, there are fears there might be an increase in cases as people celebrate during the Easter season.

Currently, the country's active Coronavirus cases stand at 2,641 after 106 cases were recorded.

The death toll is pegged at 737.

The GMA President has cautioned Ghanaians not to disregard the COVID-19 protocols during the Easter celebrations.

He called on the citizenry to, with a common purpose, continue to observe the protocols and fight COVID-19 till the country records a zero case.

''Let's challenge ourselves and say 'Operation Zero COVID-19'. Until we reach that stage, let's not stop the campaign. Let's sustain the campaign and the broadcast and strengthen the laws till we completely eliminate COVID-19'', he said in an interview on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.
