Ayeh-Paye Applauds Roads Minister On His Decision To Pay Contractors

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayensuano constituency, Samuel Ayeh-Paye has commended the Roads and Highways Minister, Kwesi Amoako-Atta over his initiative to revamp the road sector.

The Minister is said to have promised to pay upfront all arrears the Road Minsitry owes contractors in order to cause them to finish the road projects they are in charge.

The Minister's aim is to ensure there are better roads in the country to avoid road accidents.

Contributing to a panel discussion on the topic of road accidents on Peace FM's morning programme 'Kokrokoo', Samuel Ayeh-Paye applauded the Minister for his willingness to pay the contractors to complete the road projects as he believed that is the way forward in preventing the numerous accidents on the country's roads.

He also believed the behaviour of drivers is a causative factor of road accidents but was also of a strong view that the lack of better roads is a major factor and that the Minister's initiative will go a long way to resolve this challenge.

"I applaud you for making this decision. If you are able to effect this decision, it will help us a lot with our road networks," he said.

He also called on the Minister to fast-track the implementation of the Road Fund to help fund road projects.
