Michael Essien's AU Peace Match: AFRICAN XI 2 - 4 WORLD XI

Ghanaian International and Chelsea Midfield dynamo Michael Essien's Africa Union(AU)Peace Match has ended at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra,Ghana with the Africa eleven side led by the AU Peace ambassador(Michael Essien) losing by four goals to two. Former Zambian international and current Football Association President Kalusha Bwalya opened the scoreline for African XI with a fine header just under 4 minutes after a John Painstil cross from the right flank. Scott Smith equalized some few minutes later for the World XI before recess after just 40minutes of play. Substitute and former Ghanaian International and also current national Under-20 assistant coach Yaw Preko scored the second for the World XI before Chelsea and Ivorian international Didier Drogba equalised with a low drive past goalkeeper Nick Hamman -Lockwood Matt, after coming on in the second half. After an entertaining second half on the wet pitch after raindrops, Chelsea winger and French International Florent Malouda lobbed the ball over keeper Richard Kingson in post for African XI before scoring the third when he slipped making him unable to grab a cross. Former Arsenal player and Chelsea left back who captained the world XI Ashley Cole, drove in a long ball after passing two players before sending the ball in the bottom right corner of Richard Kingson's post ending the entertaining Peace match with a victory for Ashley Cole's World XI. The fans defied the rains and turned out massively to watch the match which was described a huge success.
