Boy, 10 Set Ablaze By A Wee Smoker Gets Support

The Member of Parliament(MP) for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency, Hon. Sylvester Mathew Tetteh has paid the hospital bills of the 10-year-old boy (name withheld) who was set ablaze by an alleged wee smoker at Ngleshie Amanfro in the Ga South Municipality.

The boy who sustained life-threatening injuries was sent to the Ngleshie Amanfro Poly Clinic where he is receiving treatment.

In an interview with his mother Cynthia Amankwah, she explained that the 14-year-old suspect identified and known as 'Hammer' reportedly purchased petrol and stormed the home of a popular spiritualist to burn him and the family because he [spiritualist] had exposed him to the parents for his addiction to weed smoking.

However, when Hammer stormed the mallam’s residence to allegedly set it on fire, she quickly informed the mallam and his family who then escaped with his family. Out of anger, he poured a substance suspected to be petrol and set him on fire, she added.

A report was filed at the Amanfrom Police station, suspect was arrested and is been processed for court.

The Member of Parliament for the area has condemned the barbaric attack of the suspect and has pledged to work with the police to ensure that justice for the little boy is served
