Cristiano Ronaldo 'Wants To Leave Juventus This Summer'

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Juventus this summer after a breakdown in relationship between the Italian club and their Portuguese superstar.

The 36-year-old moved from Madrid to Turin in 2018 with the Old Lady viewing Ronaldo as the final piece of the puzzle that would see them win the Champions League.

However, Juve have not come close to winning European club football's top prize since Ronaldo's arrival, with Ajax, Lyon and Porto all dumping the Italians out of the competition.

Moreover, the Old Lady have loosened their grip on Italian football, with Inter set to end the club's nine-year dominance of Serie A while they are also in jeopardy of missing out on Champions League football altogether next season.

And according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia, Ronaldo has asked super agent Jorge Mendes to undertake a search for a new club this summer.

On the face of it, Ronaldo's options seem limited. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has ruled out a reunion with the club's greatest ever player, while Manchester United have been tentatively linked with their former star.

Ronaldo's contract expires in 2022 and would be required to take a pay cut on his staggering £26.9m-a-year wage if he is to leave Turin and would be forced to pay more taxes on his sponsorship contracts if he leaves Italy.
