Former Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Prof Frimpong Boateng, has won a defamation suit against broadcaster, Blessed Nana Godsbrain Smart, aka Captain Smart.

The plaintiff, Frimpong Boateng sought legal redress against Captain Smart and Solomon K. A. Owusu, a Ghanaian based in the United States of America (USA) after they made allegations of corruption against him.

Subsequently, a ruling delivered by an Accra High Court awarded Prof Boateng GHC1million in damages against captain smart.

"You are hereby commanded that within eight days after service of this writ on you inclusive of the day of service you do cause an appearance to be entered for you . . . and take notice that in default of your so ding, judgment may be given in your absence without further notice to you," the ruling read.
