Somalia's political leaders have agreed a way forward to choose a new president after months of delay and an eruption of violence in the capital, Mogadishu.
The prime minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble, and the presidents of the regional states signed a deal to start the process within 60 days.
Clan elders will choose MPs, who will then elect the new president.
Efforts made by President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, better known by his nickname "Farmajo", to extend his mandate by two years sparked a political crisis in April.
The security forces split into rival groups, occupying separate parts of Mogadishu.
