Ghanaians gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong, has denied rumours that he was married to his band mate, Maame Tiwa. “Tiwa is not my wife. I picked Tiwa because of her talent and we've been working since 1981. Her first child stayed with me and my wife even before we started performing together,” he told Joynews.
“A lot of people kept asking how I've been able to work with her for that long. My wife knows Tiwa is not my wife and the people who know this can testify. These speculations became rife when our popularity kept expanding,” he added.
Yaw Sarpong, one of Ghana's best gospel musicians of all time, is known for popular songs such as 'Oko Yi', 'Waye Awie', 'Yen Kakyere Agya Se' and 'Wo Haw Ne Sen'.
Over the years, he managed to keep his marital issues out of the media until now when rumours are flying off the roof.
He revealed that he has four children with his wife.
