General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association Prosper Harrison Addo has stated that investigations would be launched into the behaviour of Kotoko fans at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

A group of Kotoko fans were captured on camera hauling a yet-to-be identified broadcast Journalist out of the media center at the Len Clay Stadium for pronouncing that referee Jacob Aduntera got his decision to award a penalty to Kotoko on the 71st minute mark wrong.

Kotoko were awarded a penalty when Richard Baidoo was adjudged to have fell striker Evans Adomako inside the box. The penalty generated heated controversy as replays show the goalkeeper got a touch of the ball before making contact with the player. Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama elected himself and beautifully converted from the spot to restore the lead for Mariano Barreto’s side.

Ghana FA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo reacting to the incident on a platform of Venue Media Officers assured members that action shall be taken against Kotoko.

“Oh Asante Kotoko SC. My headaches are being added to everyday. What is his name and station so we apologise. That is not good. The prosecutor will charge Kotoko after investigations,” he wrote on the VMO platform on WhatsApp.

Meanwhile FIFA Referee Instructor Richard Thomas Attifu says the referee got his decision right in awarding the penalty a 71st minute penalty to Asante Kotoko. Referee Attifu explains why referee Aduntera got his decision right: “The first show who is control. The second and third show contact with leg of the attacker.”
