The Youth Must Take Advantage Of Opportunities - Sammi Awuku Urges

National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku has advised the youth of Ghana to develop a proper attitude towards work.

Mr. Awuku bemoaned the unseriousness of some youth when they are given a job or find work to do.

He reminded them about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nation which has pressured most employers to lay off workers, therefore calling on those lucky to have their jobs to put up a good working behavior so that they don't fall victims of unemployment.

Speaking on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', he said; ''if you're a youth and is working, I want to speak to you to understand that the employer is dazed because the COVID has reduced his/her finances. So, if you're to report to work at 8am and close at 5pm but you go to work at 9am instead of the 8am, close at 4pm and, around 2pm, use a format saying your mother is sick to deceive your employer; if it reaches a time where your employer is dismissing his workers, who do you think your employer will sack? Is it the person who comes at 8am-5pm or you will come with excuses?

''So, those already in jobs, our appeal to you is that hold on tight to what you have now while the government and the private sector are engaging to also help create other opportunities for you.''

He urged the youth to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way.
