Ejura Killing: Military Action Was Totally 'Unacceptable' - Nana B

National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye has condemned the shooting and killings at Ejura by some soldiers deployed to the area to restore calm.

A combined team of soldiers and Police officers was sent to Ejura after some resident hit the streets to seek justice for an activist named Ibrahim Mohammed a.k.a 'Kaaka' who was murdered by unidentified assailants for being vocally loud in addressing national issues.

Two protesters were shot dead by the soldiers and four others seriously injured.

Discussing the incident on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', Nana Boakye questioned the logic in using live bullets to disperse protesters.

''It is unacceptable. Someone claims they (protesters) were pelting stones. With the greatest respect, and so what?'', he stated.

He commended the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo for instructing the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery to conduct a public inquiry into the incident.

''...I support His Excellency the President's call for public inquiry'', he said.

In response to the President's directive, a 3-member Committee has been set up by the Interior Minister to probe the unfortunate situation at Ejura.

Nana B called on the Committee to '' to find out who gave the command for the deployment of the Military. What did they see? What was the intelligence? Okay and why did they use live bullets?''
