A mammoth crowd of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) protesters on Tuesday morning hit the streets of Accra to register their displeasure over the killing and dehumanizing treatment of some citizens by security agencies in the country.
Thousands of members and sympathizers of the NDC, clad in red, wielded placards with inscriptions such as, ''Akufo-Addo is using our money to bath in the sky'', ''Akufo-Addo, you are a dictator'', ''Ahmed Suale deserved to live'', ''No justice for the dead, no peace'' among others as they marched through some streets to the Jubilee House and ended at Parliament Gate.
Some NDC dignitaries that led the demonstration included the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George; National Women Organizer of the party, Dr. Louisa Hanna Bissiw; National Chairman of the party, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and other leading members.
The decision to allow the NDC to protest is at variance with the treatment meted out to the ''Fix the Country'' campaigners as the latter are in court with the Police for them to exercise their right to protest.
The NDC protest has begged the question; why should the "Fix the Country" protesters be refused to embark on demonstration?
It has been revealed that the "Fix the Country" campaigners now have the green light to go on demonstration as their protest has been slated for August 4, 2021.
During the Tuesday edition of 'Kokrokoo', Kwami Sefa Kayi, affectionately called Chairman General, said the, "Fix the Country campaigners and the Police have come into agreement that, on the 4th August, they will have the opportunity to demonstrate".
