Support Govt, MP To Improve Lives — Asamoah Boateng

The Director-General of State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng,  has urged constituents of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency to rally behind their Member of Parliament (MP), Mr George Mireku Duker, as the government works to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

He said it was important that the constituents remembered how far God had brought them and the need to be steadfast in their endeavours.

Thanksgiving

Mr Asamoah Boateng, popularly known as Asabee made the call when he joined Mr Duker, who is also the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, at an Interdenominational Thanksgiving and Gospel Show in the constituency in appreciation of God's guidance towards him and the entire government over the years on Sunday, July 4, 2021.

The spirit-filled ceremony had top artistes such as Diana Hamilton, Omane Acheampong, Chief Supt. Kofi Sarpong and Great Ampong in attendance.

Also present were the Western Regional Minister,  Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah; the Chief Director of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Prof. Patrick Agbesinyale, and traditional leaders.

Free speech

Mr Asamoah Boateng noted that the NPP government promoted freedom of speech and the protection of individual liberties.

He said the government appreciated constructive comments and criticisms.


For his part, Mr Duker thanked Mr Asamoah Boateng for mentoring him when he was a young man.

He recounted his youthful years as the Assistant Secretary of the Mfantseman West Constituency when Mr Asamoah Boateng was the MP.

He said when Mr Asamoah Boateng was appointed as the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment during President J. A. Kufuor's government, he (Asabee) also appointed him as his Special Assistant.

Mr Duker acknowledged Mr Asamoah Boateng’s humility, can-do spirit and forthright approach in dealing with difficult issues.
