Dwumfour Calls For Deepened Relations Between Media And Corporate Ghana

An aspiring Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) President, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has called for a deepened relationship between Corporate Ghana and the media in order to promote their businesses hand-in-hand.

He made the call when he took his campaign to the Ashfoam Factory Limited in Accra on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Dwumfour noted that Ashfoam has been one of the companies that have supported the media and the GJA over the years.

He stated that the company has supported GJA Awards by honoring the Best Journalist of the year, Female Journalist of the Year, and the Most Promising Journalist of the year with products aside from the monetary support it gives to GJA.

He also noted that Ashfoam has also helped with the painting of some parts of the building of the Press Centre amongst others hence the need to engage the company while aspiring to take over as the next President.

"We see them as a major corporate partner and as all know, the media thrives on an enabling environment to succeed and so if the media throws our support behind corporate Ghana, they will also support us when we go to them for support," he said.

Mr Dwumfour said his campaign team will visit corporate Ghana, aside Ashfoam to appreciate them and to also let them know how the media can get the government to create an enabling environment for businesses in the country.

He also underscored the need to deepen the relationship between corporate Ghana, including Ashfoam, in order to help address some of their challenges.

"Businesses thrive on enabling environment and it is the media that will create it. What we can do as a Fourth Estate of the Realm is not just to expose the ills and the wrongs but to also help so that government will make laws that will protect our indigenous businesses, protect entrepreneurs and local businesses because even if investors come here, they employ the people here to do the job. So, we are here to strengthen the partnership between us and assure them that we will continue to deepen the working relationship they already started with the GJA, “he said.
