Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Commissions Ultramodern Surgical Theatre At Ofoase-Ayirebi

Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, on Friday, commissioned an ultramodern Surgical Theatre Unit at Ofoase-Ayirebi in the Eastern Region.

Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency has over the years lacked quality healthcare and accessibility.

With the residents facing serious health challenges, the Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi was concerned and started making moves to fix the problem.

Speaking in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Hon. Oppong Nkrumah outlined how he managed to remedy the situation revealing he first employed the services of some doctors but only one pledged devotion to stay in the constituency and offer his services to the residents.

He stated that, by his help and other relevant stakeholders, the doctor was provided with a private residence and a car to ease his work.

As part of his commitment to resolve the health challenges, the Minister disclosed that a Surgical Theatre Unit has been built and completed with two incubators, defibrillators, surgical monitors and other quality health facilities ''to serve the whole Ofoase Ayirebi constituency''.

He expressed his joy emphasizing, "we, at Ofoase-Ayirebi, have got our first surgical unit and our first medical doctor. The health center has today been upgraded to a polyclinic".

The 'Kokrokoo' host, Kwami Sefa Kayi, and his 'Kokrokoo Charities' also promised to provide an incubator for the health center.

"God bless you Chairman. We thank you," the Minister expressed his gratitude to the 'kokrokoo' team.
