177,600 Doses Of Johnson And Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine Shows Prez Akufo-Addo’s Effort To Normalize Activities - Dr Da Costa Aboagye

The Leader of the Covid-19 Risk Communication, Dr Aboagye Da Costa, says the 177, 600 procured Johnson & Johnson Vaccines is a demonstration of President Akufo-Addo’s commitment and effort to return the lives of Ghanaians to normal.

According to the Director of Health Promotions, Ghana Health Service, the President is working hard to better the economy and other activities by ensuring that there are a lot of vaccines in the country to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Dr Aboagye Da Costa disclosed that aside from the 177,600 Johnson & Johnson vaccines which are part of the procurement of the African Union, President Akufo-Addo met with AstraZeneca to discuss the vaccine with them.

“The President is not sleeping and so he met with the AstraZeneca to discuss the vaccine with them. He is working hard and so let’s pray for more of the vaccines for Ghanaians so that we can return our lives to normal and better the economy and other activities,” he stated.

He added that the Johnson & Johnson vaccines in the country are a good step in the right direction as those doses will help the country add to the number of people vaccinated against the Covid-19.

He, however, was hopeful that Ghana will get more of the vaccines as there is an ongoing negotiation coupled with the fact that the African Union is expecting some 400 million doses.

“The President, the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service are using any means necessary to get vaccines for Ghanaians against the Covid-19,” he assured.

Touching on the Johnson & Johnson vaccines, Dr Aboagye Da Costa indicated that it is a piece of good news for the country as it requires a single dose to protect the citizens who are yet to be vaccinated.
