NPP’s aspiring presidential candidate, Joe Ghartey was among some high-profile personalities who were at the funeral of late Hajia Mariama Bawumia, mother of Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
 
 She was been laid to rest at Walewale in the North East Region.

Hajia Mariama Bawumia was buried at the same spot with her husband the late Mumuni Bawumia, at their house in Walewale.

Hajia Mariama passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13, 2021, in Accra after being unwell for some days.
 
The late Hajia Mariama Bawumia was born on September 15, 1939, and died at the age of 82 years.
